This fun, funky piece for intermediate concert band utilizes asymmetric meters and multiple time signature changes to keep both the listeners and performers on the edge of their seat! Written at roughly a Grade 3.5 level of difficulty, "Orange Rondo" serves as a great way to teach your band that the eighth note pulse stays constant despite the time signature. The percussion section is featured in several short soli sections; most players are asked to perform on at least two instruments during the composition. At the request of the students who commissioned the piece from Oswego High School in Oswego, Illinois, elements from the "Band Boot Camp Method Book" are incorporated into the music.
